Moshi moshi. (Japanese for hello)
Yesterday, I didn't go for the barbeque cos the 'rents insisted we had to celebrate my mother's birthday. [unfortunately for me, as I've been away overseas in Japan from 29 Oct to 4 Nov and I missed out on a lot of the fun stuff-- maybe not a lot, but you get the point. And I was thinking, "Well, at least I won't miss the barbeque," but I did.]
Luckily for me, Mrs Tay understood the predicament (probably because she's a mother herself :)) and kindly told me to send her well-wishes to my mother. We went out (duh bald people no hair) and ate a Japanese dinner which was what my mother wanted, at a hotel. With sashimi! Actually, we ate the "new-style sashimi" which was super yucky (Lexx-- normalsashimi's still nicer than raw salmon, haha.) cos they soaked it in some kinda bitter, sour sauce (actually, I like bittergourd and sour gummies, but oh no. The two different flavours don't go together.)so it was yucky. And we got shabu-shabu (you know, the kind of Japanese steamboat except you dip it in sesame sauce after. We ate some in Tokyo and it was really nice (nicer than the one Father makes, somehow (no offense)) and the woman there didn't give us the sauce. Then my dad asked her to give him the sauce and she looked puzzled and said "I'll get you the shabu-shabu sauce." and left. Minutes later, she came with some kind of soya sauce with lots of chopped onion in it. My father got annoyed and said "Can you just get me the sesame sauce?" then she said "okay." haha.
